Why is avg not updating
If you're running Vista or Windows 7, I've found Microsoft Security Essentials to be perfectly adequate.
If you installed AVG today, then what you are experiencing is not an update, but rather the Cache Server.
I think this company has become completely corrupt and I'm demanding a refund. I have found that I can fix this for a while by running System Mechanic. I rate AVG Internet Security by itself, 4 out of 5, but the persistent problems with being constantly harassed to upgrade PC Tune Up unfortunately bring my total satisfaction rating down to 2.
And perhaps uninstall AVG and install something else.
I started with the Ducktoes online tutorial “How to Update AVG Free.” Many of our clients and others don’t know how to update their AVG Free.
The tutorial outlines a step-by-step process of updating AVG, plus download links for AVG Free software without the Zen or PC Tuneup. In our virus removal lab at Ducktoes we’ve seen the PC Tuneup break operating systems when some clients install and run it on their own computers.
The purpose of the cache is to reduce future scan time; since the files in the cache are safe files, future scans ignore those files, and thus reduce scan time by about 50%.
Now I think that AVG is deliberately ** up my browser response.I revised it from the 2013 version to the 2016 one. As far as the Zen part of AVG goes, according to PC Advisor, “AVG Zen is multi-platform software that allows you to view and administrate your antivirus and tuneup utilities across PC, laptop and Android smartphone and tablet. It lets you control your PC security from your phone, and it’s free, but it ties you to AVG.” You may not want AVG on all your devices.EXE";"Secured";"4/12/2016, PM";"File or Directory";"" AVG popped up with "threat detected" C:\PROGRAM FILES (x86)MOZILLA FIREFOX\UPDATED\FIREFOX.
I never authorized continued payments to this lousy company, but they took information from my Pay Pal account and made it anyway.
Was this a threat or was firefox trying to update again??
